Should you coom to: 417005?

Tonari ni Itai kara is a doujin about generic no drip nigga-kun; who has a chance encounter with the girl next door (literally). The MC is smoking outside his apartment and he asks the girl for a light, to which she responds to by lighting it with her own cigarette. They exchange names (Itadori and Shirohara) and he mentally comments on her large booba as she talks. They lightly bond over some legally non-descript anime, before Shirohara gets a call from her boyfriend. Itadori thinks over whether he should ask her about it, but then decides to better keep it to himself, saying "we're just neighbors".

The night comes, and our MC comes back to find Shirohara at their usual smoking place, alone. He asks her if something happened and she lets him know she got dumped. He replies with uncharacteristic confidence, saying "If it was me, I'd never let go a good catch like you." to which she says "Well then, console me". And then they FUUUUUUUUCK (zoom in sloppily and quickly into making out and sekkusu)

The next morning, they talk about how they ended up fucking all morning, and the doujin ends with her saying "never let go of me". Pretty holesomerino if i do say so myself.

Now, let's talk about what I liked about the doujin.

I liked her design, she's a cutie. With her large boobs and slender legs combo, along with a face that doesn't look like a child's but still manages to be cute, her design is unique in a sea of coomslop. The 'cool girl' sort of design they were going for looks good and isn't forced at all.

Let's move on to the complaints, what I didn't like about this doujin.

The story is completely contrived. It is clear from the interactions between our characters that it simply serves as a way for the eventual sex to occur. The generic dialogue about anime shows that the author wanted to have some reason for them to have sex, but not actually put in the effort required to flesh out the characters enough so they could have a believable connection. Without spending the proper time to establish a mutual attraction between these characters, the line at the end of the manga; "never let go of me" ends up feeling forced. The doujin has just enough dialogue so that when the reader's ask themselves "why are these two even having sex, they have NO chemistry", the author can just go "But, uh, they actually do cause they talked about a manga for one page". Even the dialogue that leads to sex feels OOC for our MC, as he's previously shown to be more inhibited with his feelings. Case in point; when he decides to not ask about her boyfriend. He was never established as that kind of guy, so him being like "heh, if it were me, i'd never leave you" is obviously just to get to the baby-making quicker.

Now you might be thinking to yourself "who cares, it's a doujin, of course it's all just build-up to sex, what's your point?" (what are you, a fucking faggot?)

My point is that the author is trying to write a "wholesome" manga where a girl has rebound sex with a guy. For this concept to be wholesome, the characters should have a genuine connection built up beforehand. There is no connection ever established and the attraction is never implied to be mutual, so that turns the sex scenes into 'hey, i'm just fucking you cause my ex dumped me', instead of the more wholesome 'well, i liked you anyways, so let's fuck', which was the author's clear intention.

Final verdict: Should you coom to this? Sure. Just don't expect to get invested.
